Parish Council Committees and Responsibilities

Parish Council Committees and Responsibilities

The Parish Council works through a number of dedicated committees and working groups to ensure that local matters are managed effectively and in the best interests of the community. Each committee is responsible for specific areas such as planning, finance, environment, and community services.

These groups review issues, make recommendations, and carry out decisions agreed by the full council. Councillors also represent the parish on outside bodies and regional partnerships, ensuring that our community's voice is heard at every level.

This page provides an overview of each committee's role, its current membership, and the responsibilities they hold within the council's structure.

South Holderness Association of Parish Enterprise (SHAPE)

Representative - Councillor Robert Sowden

SHAPE is a voluntary partnership of parish councils across South East Holderness. It brings together councillors and clerks to collaboratively address shared local issues, such as coastal flooding, infrastructure needs, local services, and community enterprise. Acting as a unified voice, SHAPE fosters coordination, resource-sharing, and effective engagement with district and regional bodies like East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
